The Boys Are Back in Town!
Photos by Cerwin
After enjoying a five-day hunt here in Kentucky, Jordan, Jeff, Nate, and Cerwin are home – for a day – before they leave for another hunting excursion here in West Virginia.
This was their first hunting trip to Kentucky - and they came home with great stories of the lodge, hunting, and other hunters and their stories.
The door on the far end of their bedroom entered the hallway to the main lodge.
There was also an exterior door to each room.
The main part of the lodge was quite large and comfortable.
They enjoyed visiting with the other five hunters and hearing their stories. Two of the hunters brought their wives.

Jordan and the lodge dog.
The guys enjoyed getting the dog “going” when there were deer on TV.
Scenery from Cerwin’s tree stand.
Cerwin enjoyed watching two turkeys scratching and eating in front of him when he was in a ground blind one day.
The tree stand Cerwin that was in when he shot his nine-point.
One of the ATV vehicles that took the guys to their stands or picked them up after they harvested a deer.
Corn/soybean mixture so the deer survive the winter.
A self-portrait.
You can see a similar picture on the lodge’s Facebook page here.
A broader view of the area.
Jeff and his six-point
It sure sounds like they had lots of fun.
There were nine hunters and seven deer. Jordan and Nate were the only two that did not bring a deer home – but they seemed to have a great time anyway, and are ready to begin another hunt on Monday.

Congrats to Cerwin and Jeff — and good luck to them all on the next trip. Cerwin is a great photographer too – I love the view from the tree stand, and the self portrait and the shot following it (with the deer).
@slmret - I like that Cerwin is learning the value of photos – especially for those of us who did not get to see what they did.
What a beautiful lodge! I’d like to have one.
