Another Snow Storm!

Friday & Saturday ~ February 5 & 6

Again, the birds knew they better eat now.

It was a good thing they ate up on Friday, because this is what happened to their feeders during the night.

We had about a foot of snow - not much compared to those just five miles to our south - as they received twenty inches. Our youngest daughter who lives an hour to our south received more that two feet.

I had just gotten up to get my second cup of coffee when I noticed this blazer coming up the road, and soon realized it was our oldest son, Jeff. He always did enjoy the challenge of maneuvering through snow. He was just opening the door when I snapped this picture.

After a short visit, he prepared for the six-mile trip home.

What does a mother do with a son who likes anything that challenges his driving skills?   Pray!

This neighborhood milk truck driver probably wished he could be at home.

The suet was popular with the birds, because it seemed to resist the snow.

We don't often see snowmobiles but the open fields in front of us were popular with these three.

Cerwin opened our driveway after lunch.

The sky cleared by late afternoon...

...and the temperature went high enough to melt our driveway. (Cerwin was glad he took time to open it a few hours earlier.)

I never imagined that this snowy, cloudy, wintry day would close with a beautiful sunset.

So ended a wintry Saturday.

It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special.

Birds and Snow

Tuesday & Wednesday ~ February 2 & 3

The birds knew that snow was coming, because our feeders were busy on Tuesday.

This is what it looked like when we went to bed on Tuesday night.

I was anxious to see what the landscape looked like when I woke up on Wednesday.

By daylight I could see the three or four inches of snow that had fallen while we slept.

I wanted to just stand at the windows and look at the white snow and pretty scenery, because the temperature was supposed to get above freezing, so I knew that most of this would be gone by evening.

I love snow. I love winter.

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
