Brethren Disaster Relief Auction - Part 9

September 21 & 22

Our granddaughter Diana was helping at the auction when I arrived on Saturday morning.

Her mom and our daughter-in-law Chris displaying a beautiful purse.

There was a 1948 Dodge for sale. It brought $6,000.00.

This local (one family owned) 1986 BMW brought $5,700.00

This turkey feather is beautiful.

This is handcarved from wood!

He also carved this cardinal. It brought $1,000.00

This was Friday evening's supper under the pavilion.

West Hall held a variety of things.

Share-A-Meal.

Many people offer a home-cooked meal - mentioning the menu, date, and the number of people they can accommodate. People come here to choose and buy meals at $20.00 a person.

This is a donation on both parts - the cook and the buyer.

These young girls (Kayleen and Madison) from our church were selling pies.

There are beautiful plants for sale in one corner of the room.

In another area of the room, the Markey's have beautiful flowers.

The Laughman family help with the produce.

Gift of the Heart Kits - Southeast Hall Auctions - Pole Barn

Brethren Disaster Relief Auction - Part 8

September 21 & 22

Theme baskets are always a hit at this event.

On Saturday many volunteers assembled thousands of school kits for this year's Gift of the Heart project.

I wish you could have seen the speed at which they were assembled, put in boxes, and prepared for shipping.

Southeast Auction was going on at the same time.

You can usually get better deals here than in the main auction.

Children enjoy bidding at the Children's Auction.

Meanwhile there was another auction in the pole barn.

This is where you can find treasures for a really great deal.

The heifer auction is held on the other side of the barn.

I enjoyed watching the exchange between these two.

You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are

These young cousins (Valarae, Colleen, and Heather) from our church have beautiful pin cushions, soaps, and other crafts for sale.

I love these chenille bedspread snowmen.

I enjoyed talking to this lady who grew up in Germany and seeing her beautiful flower arrangements.

The building was filled with a variety of things created by many skilled craftsmen and women.

These photos are just a sampling of crafts in the building.

Whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty.

The water that I will give him will become in him a well of life that lasts forever. Jesus

I always find it fascinating to watch Dennis at work - or maybe it's play.

Notice his website (above his head) if you want to check out his work.

There is a reason that he is surrounded by netting.

He drew lots of attention.

The eagle looks like it could bite him.

Each piece sold at the main auction on Saturday afternoon.

This sold for $350.00.

Love this bench.

Dennis came to the main auction to announce each item as it came up for bid.

This birdfeeder sold for $450.00.

Cardinals carved out of red cedar.

My favorite - the "elk bench" - sold for $875.00.

I can't imagine being able to do this with a chainsaw.

Place yourselves under God’s authority.

These booklets contained the quilt listing.

This was the highest selling quilt.

It sold one time for $2,000.00. The winning bidder said, "Sell it again." It brought $1,700.00 the second time, making a total of $3,700.00.
