    The mocking bird is the talkingest bird

    1 (2)

    That ever you'll meet in the month of May.

    1 (3)

    He teeters and tauters high in the tree,

    1 (4)

    And he talks all night and he talks all day.

    1 (5)

    He hardly ever has time to sing

    1 (6)

    Because of having so much to say.

    Visiting

    Word of Life Chapel

    Bainbridge, PA - Sunday, March 17

    2 (1)

    After getting the TFC chapel set up for Global Outreach Sunday at Word of Life Chapel, Bainbridge, PA, we went inside and were invited to Fellowship Time in the Multipurpose Room.

    2 (2)

    There was a delightful array of breakfast goodies.

    2 (3)

    2 (4)

    While talking to one of the men, he invited me to come to see a large mural near a back entrance of the sanctuary.

    2 (5)

    The artwork was done by someone from Mexico, and if I remember correctly the story begins with the Wickersham School on the upper right, which used to be next to the property, and had something to do with the history of the church. Bottom right: the church sends a missionary to Mexico. Upper center: the missionary. Center: Corn which is a main source of food in Mexico. Bottom Center: Seed which represents the Word of God. Upper left as well as the background: a variety of things that represent Mexico. The ravens represent the birds in the Bible that ate the "seed" which was planted by the missionary. The people in living color are those who received Jesus the "light" of the World. The people who are dark gray are those who have not heard or either rejected the Word the missionary preached, and the man who is wrapped in cords represents a wealthy man who is trapped by Satan.

    2 (6)

    Bunny shared ministry stories and highlights during the Adult Bible School hour.

    2 (7)

    He was the TFC staff person who connected with this church.

    2 (9)

    There was a Church Family Luncheon following the morning services. The guest speaker for the church service was Paul Lowery who is seated to Cerwin and Bunny's right. He and his wife are involved in mission work in Guatemala.

    "God is Doing Something in the World Today."

    "Jesus Wants Followers - Not Fans."

    2 (10)

    We had lots of visitors in the chapel - with many questions about Transport For Christ. We look forward to staying connected with this church fellowship and maybe having some of the men serve with us as volunteer chaplains or chapel construction workers.

    2 (11)

    Then it was time to prepare the chapel for its short trip back to the TFC Office/Shop. After everything on the inside was put in its travel spot, Bunny and Cerwin took the steps apart and put them in their storage space under the trailer.

    This tree has really been pruned for the upcoming summer.

    2 (16)

    And the chapel is back in its parking spot for another few weeks.

    Taking a TFC Chapel To

    Word of Life Chapel

    Bainbridge, PA - Sunday, March 17

    1 (1)

    6:30 a.m. - the chapel is ready to roll.

    1 (2)

    1 (3)

    1 (4)

    This was a short trip, as the church is only a few miles north of the TFC Office.

    1 (5)

    It was another cold morning, so I stayed in the tractor while Cerwin leveled the chapel.

    1 (6)

    Bare trees always remind me of one of my favorite artists - P. Buckley Moss.

    1 (7)

    This church is right in the middle of the country.

    1 (8)

    1 (9)

    1 (10)

    Cerwin wasn't quite ready to set up the steps, so I took the opportunity to take a few photos before the lot filled up with cars.

    I am beginning to think that spring may arrive one of these days.

    1 (15)

    1 (16)

    After coming around the corner - from walking the perimeter of the church - I noticed that Cerwin was ready for help with setting up the chapel steps.

    Penryn Mud Sale

    Part 4

    Saturday, March 16

    4 (1)

    I quickly snapped some pictures as we walked toward our car.

    4 (2)

    It was so cold that I didn't linger long anywhere.

    4 (3)

    4 (4)

    This is why they are called mud sales!

    4 (5)

    4 (6)

    4 (7)

    Only serious bidders stood outside in this weather.

    4 (9)

    It's not often you get to see snow on kitchen chairs.

    4 (10)

    I loved seeing the young entrepreneurs who brought their wagons to haul things to a successful bidder's car.

    4 (12)

    I don't know if they charged or just took tips.

    4 (13)

    I think I see a competitor on the right.

    4 (14)

    More outside items waiting to be sold.

    4 (15)

    Need a buggy?

    4 (16)

    4 (17)

    4 (18)

    I enjoyed seeing these two walking together - holding hands.

    4 (19)

    I expect it was a brother and sister.

    4 (20)

    It was good to be back inside our warm house at noon.

     You may remember from an earlier post that Roy and Deb came to the house to get Jana, Ian, Jared, and Jesse to take them to the mud sale while we were speaking at a prayer breakfast. However, because of the miserably cold, rainy weather they came back to the house.

    I stayed to take some pictures for Deb for her Mud Sale Guide.

    Roy, Deb, and the children spent some of their time cleaning up the children's bedrooms - and ran the sweeper over the entire house.

    It was wonderful to come home to a clean house.

    4 (21)

    I brought mud sale subs and chicken corn soup home for lunch. Yum!

    4 (22)

    While we were eating lunch, we noticed several Amish people walking home. I expect they got tired of the bad weather at the mud sale. They had been walking for one-and-a-half miles by the time they got to our place and still had half-a-mile to go before they got home.

    ~~~
    Jere and Kristen were coming home from a business trip to warm, sunny Florida on this day!
    3 (17)
    I liked this picture of four Amish girls - the last picture before we went outside to head home and take lunch to Roy, Deb, Jana, Ian, Jared, and Jesse.
    3 (18)
    It was still quite cold and rainy.
    3 (19)
    3 (20)
    I will show you my final set of pictures tomorrow night.
