Sparks Steak House
New York City
After visiting the 9/11 Memorial we got a cab to Sparks.
Cerwin, Roy, and Deb ordered filet mignon, and were surprised by the size.
I think the three of them could have shared one and had enough meat.
They also shared a dish of potatoes…
…and asparagus.
Me. I ordered an appetizer of shrimp and clams for my entree.
Delicious!
It was a delightful dining experience.

The not so delightful happened after this when we got back to our motel room (we shared one to keep the expense down) and discovered that our room door was hanging open.
Cerwin noticed that it didn’t close quite right when we left the room at noon, so gave it an extra tug to pull it shut. The conclusion from the hotel staff person who came to our room was that the cleaning person didn’t close it properly when she checked our linens between 4 and 5 pm.
The only thing missing was Cerwin’s small laptop – the one we sometimes take with us on trips so we have internet for emails, etc. Thankfully we don’t store anything on it, and it was old and getting rather slow.
The hotel staff person expects that we will be reimbursed.
Cerwin ordered a new one after we got home, and is pleased to have Windows 7 and one that is much faster.
~~~
We each slept well after a day that was filled with new experiences.
The food looks wonderful and I’d love to go there someday! It’s awful that Cerwin’s laptop got stolen, but I guess the blessing is getting a new one!
That would be unsettling to find your room door open! My laptop is getting old too. Do you want to take it along next time?
I really don’t store much on it either except my photo programs so I can work on pics while we’re gone.
Wow, that steak looks delicious. Yummy! I’m hungry for lunch all of a sudden!
@mcbery - I would have cried if it was my laptop, as keep lots of stuff on it. However, I do on occasion back it up on an external hard drive. Have a blessed Sunday.
Looks like a great time, and the food (especially the fillet mingnon) looks DIVINE!
