Brooklyn Diner, Rain, and Home
Walking toward Brooklyn Diner from Central Park.
Tall buildings fascinate me as I am used to tall trees.
We arrived at Brooklyn Diner at 10:30 - just in time for brunch.
There was a waiting line, so I took time to walk around the area.
Before long it was our turn to go inside.
Deb and I shared Eggs Benedict, as it always comes with two eggs.
The men got omelets.
What could I have done to get this kind of expression from Deb?
I took a fork full of her red velvet cake!
By the way, it was the best red velvet cake I have ever tasted. The filling was whipped cream, blueberries, and strawberries.
After going back to our hotel to retrieve our luggage (we had to be there by noon) we got a cab to Macy's because we thought it would be a good way to spend our last (rainy) hour in New York City.
Macy's is probably the only place that I don't have to see again.
I get confused by left and right, meaning I got so lost. According to Google, there are ten floors - the basement, then floors 1 to 9. I somehow missed floors 8 and 9.I do not like shopping, so my favorite thing was riding the old wooden escalators.
I took one last ride on an escalator before heading back to the check in area where we left our luggage.
I got there by asking for directions many times.

We had so much fun with Roy and Deb and had a relaxing, wonderful time in the city.

That's a priceless shot of Deb -- she looks shocked!!! And I love the rainy shot of people walking across the street. I'm glad you had such a great time in NYC!
@slmret - Thanks. It was a great two-day vacation.
You sure did pack a lot in to two days in the city and that cake looks so yummy! I love Deb's reaction! I don't think I would like shopping at such a large store either --
Great pictures!! I love NYC for a day and then I am so ready to come home again. Plus, it is so nice to know that someone else gets there left and right mixed up. Most people would never understand that, but I certainly do. The people that go on our bus trips just laugh at me since I just point the direction-- if I tell them left or right I am usually wrong anyway!!!
@myhopeisinjesus - We did get to see a lot of things, but it felt relaxing.
@Chearl - We must be related - to get left and right mixed up. So that must come from the Hersheys.
Thanks for sharing your trip. NYC is one of those places we hope to visit at some point (hopefully with a guide!).
What a wonderful experience ~ would like to take a bus tour to NYC some day ~
@manuelmusings - Our son-in-law was a good guide. We would have been lost without him.
@fwren - You must do that. It is good for country folks to visit a big city.
We are driving through your beautiful state this weekend when we take the new chapel to Rochelle, Illinois.
