A Beautiful Afternoon
I felt a need to get outside and see what was going on in our woodlot.
There is still some pink Yarrow.
The fire bush is red – but not as brilliant as a few weeks ago.
Most branches are bare with just a few leaves hanging on for dear life.
There are leaves on the oak trees but they’re brown and tattered.
This happens every fall.
The decorative grass looks so pretty in the late afternoon sunlight.
The chickadee didn’t even fly away as I approached the patio.
The nuthatch seemed to be telling me that a squirrel knocked the feeder off the stool again!
~~~
I was blessed this evening to have a visit from our friends Marv and Sue Shenk. Marv is a minister at our church.
Glad to see you’re up and around — how are you feeling?
@slmret - I went to church this morning, and relaxed this afternoon. I think I am ready for a partial day of work tomorrow.
Thanks for asking.
Lovely photos! Fall is coughing it’s last breath here, too. Not much color to be seen. Are you feeling better and more like doing things again?
@DanishDoll - I am doing very well. I have four people coming in today to help mail TFC’s monthly publication – The Highway News – so plan to work today according to my strength.
So glad to see that you are able to be out and about — your Yarrow is so pretty — there’s no color left in our area!
It was good to see you at church yesterday morning!!! God has Blessed you with a good and speedy recovery, but remember to take some time for yourself and relax a little. Sometimes we keep going and going before we realize how “tired” we actually are. We’ll keep praying for you and a complete recovery from your surgery.
@myhopeisinjesus - The Yarrow is against the house, so is still protected from the frost and cold.
@Chearl - Thanks! I am trying to get back to work slowly – and take breaks in between.
I really like the photos of wheat or what looks like wheat.
it is so pretty with the sun.
Very positive blog
@Texasjillcarmel - Thanks. I like those photos too.
