If you don't like seeing pictures of hunters and their deer, exit this post right now, because there are a lot of them.
The successful hunters at D & S New Hope Lodge in West Virginia.
Jeff, Nate (yes, he had two tags), Joram, Jere, and Jordan. Cerwin did not see a buck on this trip.
This is what happens when a gun scope hits your nose. Jeff had to make an awkward shot to get his buck.
Nate got a nice six-point and a small eight-point.
Jordan's buck is a lopsided six-point. Notice one side of the antlers is long and the other side is short. The cause for lack of growth on one side was probably because he had an injured leg from earlier in the year - maybe a car accident.
Preparing to head home earlier today.
I expect this view got some attention on the five-and-a-half-hour drive home.
Just before they left, our brother-in-law Marlin came in with a buck.
My first view of the stack of venison.
Jere, Nate, Joram, Cerwin and Jeff.
Nate's six-point.
Nate's unusual eight-point.
Their next stop was the butcher shop where hamburger, sausage, bologna, and steaks will be prepared for the High and Zuck family freezers.

Wow, that's alot of meat! And poor Jeff with the injured nose! I think deer faces are sweet. HowEVer, there are SO many out there, and because we had a bad experience, this doesn't really bother me! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I'll be showing Jim this post for sure! He finally got a deer here yesterday (well not HERE at our place, but on the farm where he hunts) and will be going out tomorrow. He and my son-in-law have each gotten one so far this season. Happy Thanksgiving!
@Richgem - Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well.
@piecedtreasures - Yes, hunters will enjoy these pictures.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
It looks like the High and Zuck families will be eating well this winter! I came within 6 inches of having one of those as a hood ornament on my way home from Buffalo late yesterday!! I'm thankful for good brakes -- my shoulders are sore this morning from hanging on to the steering wheel so tight!! (But at least I don't have a big slice out of my nose!) (o: Blessings to you this Thanksgiving day.
