Entertained by Walkie Talkies
A Blue Jay & Goose Hunting
Even before daylight yesterday we noticed that something was going on in the field across from our house. We thought maybe a farm vehicle had broken down, then about dawn we noticed that the neighbors were setting up decoys for goose hunting.
The blue jay wasn’t worried because he isn’t a Canada goose.
Inside the house Jared asked about the walkie talkies that were on the kitchen table. (They were still there from the West Virginia hunting trip.)
After showing them how they work – it entertained them for many hours.
It took Jesse a bit to figure it out.
After a while Jesse went back to his computer game.
However, Ian and Jared had lots of fun outside.
After awhile I grabbed a walkie talkie and tried playing with their minds.
They took off toward the back of our woods – toward my sister’s house.
I heard Jared say, “This may be private property. Oh, they have a big dog.”
About that time their cousin Nate arrived. I gave him my walkie talkie and said, “Just say, ‘Hey this is private property.’”
The walkie talkies went silent for a bit – until they realized what I had done. Oh, that was fun.
About the middle of the afternoon I noticed the neighbors had given up and were picking up their decoys. There must not have been any geese in this neck of the woods.
The last time they hunted here they were quite successful.

very interesting about the decoys ~
@fwren - The decoys are back, so I expect there will be more goose hunting this weekend.
