Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Baby Shower - Part 1
Saturday Evening, November 24
It was so much fun to go to the baby shower for our niece Jessie, her husband, Rob, and their newly adopted baby, Elyse.
Elyse, Jessie, and our daughter Deb.

Entertained by Walkie Talkies
A Blue Jay & Goose Hunting
Even before daylight yesterday we noticed that something was going on in the field across from our house. We thought maybe a farm vehicle had broken down, then about dawn we noticed that the neighbors were setting up decoys for goose hunting.
The blue jay wasn't worried because he isn't a Canada goose.
Inside the house Jared asked about the walkie talkies that were on the kitchen table. (They were still there from the West Virginia hunting trip.)
After showing them how they work - it entertained them for many hours.
It took Jesse a bit to figure it out.
After a while Jesse went back to his computer game.
However, Ian and Jared had lots of fun outside.
After awhile I grabbed a walkie talkie and tried playing with their minds.
They took off toward the back of our woods - toward my sister's house.
I heard Jared say, "This may be private property. Oh, they have a big dog."
About that time their cousin Nate arrived. I gave him my walkie talkie and said, "Just say, 'Hey this is private property.'"
The walkie talkies went silent for a bit - until they realized what I had done. Oh, that was fun.
About the middle of the afternoon I noticed the neighbors had given up and were picking up their decoys. There must not have been any geese in this neck of the woods.
The last time they hunted here they were quite successful.
Thanksgiving Day - Part 1
The day started with an encouraging Thanksgiving service at church. Our hearts were blessed to hear children, young people, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents share about God's blessings in their lives.
Then half of our family went to Jere and Kristen's for lunch. The rest were either in Maine or had other family meal plans.
When we arrived Kristen was basting the turkey.
She and Jere make a turkey with spices and a marinate that is hard to match for taste.
Jere preparing to make gravy.
Someone was pouring sparkling grape juice.
Now you know who that someone was!
Pretty decorations

Deb and Jana preparing the cookie dish.
Look behind you Deb and Jana! Now we know who stole half of one of the cookies.

Deb and Jana
Jesse and Josh. Can you tell that there are two photographers.
I tried again and they switched their focus.
Me and Deb
Me and Cerwin.
Thanks for the delicious meal, Jere and Kristen. I missed getting a photo of you two. I guess you were too busy.
Jere and Kristen are legal guardians for an elderly man and his son, and both men have been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks. Right now Greg (the sixty-something-year-old-son) is in the hospital following a fall yesterday, so we brought Ian, Jared, and Jesse home with us for the night so Jere and Kristen can spend the afternoon and evening in the hospital.
Josh and Jana went home with Roy and Deb to go Black Friday shopping tomorrow morning at 2:00 a.m. I would rather be sleeping at that time!
If you don't like seeing pictures of hunters and their deer, exit this post right now, because there are a lot of them.
The successful hunters at D & S New Hope Lodge in West Virginia.
Jeff, Nate (yes, he had two tags), Joram, Jere, and Jordan. Cerwin did not see a buck on this trip.
This is what happens when a gun scope hits your nose. Jeff had to make an awkward shot to get his buck.
Nate got a nice six-point and a small eight-point.
Jordan's buck is a lopsided six-point. Notice one side of the antlers is long and the other side is short. The cause for lack of growth on one side was probably because he had an injured leg from earlier in the year - maybe a car accident.
Preparing to head home earlier today.
I expect this view got some attention on the five-and-a-half-hour drive home.
Just before they left, our brother-in-law Marlin came in with a buck.
My first view of the stack of venison.
Jere, Nate, Joram, Cerwin and Jeff.
Nate's six-point.
Nate's unusual eight-point.
Their next stop was the butcher shop where hamburger, sausage, bologna, and steaks will be prepared for the High and Zuck family freezers.
