Visiting
Word of Life Chapel
Bainbridge, PA – Sunday, March 17
After getting the TFC chapel set up for Global Outreach Sunday at Word of Life Chapel, Bainbridge, PA, we went inside and were invited to Fellowship Time in the Multipurpose Room.
There was a delightful array of breakfast goodies.
While talking to one of the men, he invited me to come to see a large mural near a back entrance of the sanctuary.
The artwork was done by someone from Mexico, and if I remember correctly the story begins with the Wickersham School on the upper right, which used to be next to the property, and had something to do with the history of the church. Bottom right: the church sends a missionary to Mexico. Upper center: the missionary. Center: Corn which is a main source of food in Mexico. Bottom Center: Seed which represents the Word of God. Upper left as well as the background: a variety of things that represent Mexico. The ravens represent the birds in the Bible that ate the “seed” which was planted by the missionary. The people in living color are those who received Jesus the “light” of the World. The people who are dark gray are those who have not heard or either rejected the Word the missionary preached, and the man who is wrapped in cords represents a wealthy man who is trapped by Satan.
Bunny shared ministry stories and highlights during the Adult Bible School hour.
He was the TFC staff person who connected with this church.
There was a Church Family Luncheon following the morning services. The guest speaker for the church service was Paul Lowery who is seated to Cerwin and Bunny’s right. He and his wife are involved in mission work in Guatemala.
“God is Doing Something in the World Today.”
“Jesus Wants Followers – Not Fans.”
We had lots of visitors in the chapel – with many questions about Transport For Christ. We look forward to staying connected with this church fellowship and maybe having some of the men serve with us as volunteer chaplains or chapel construction workers.
Then it was time to prepare the chapel for its short trip back to the TFC Office/Shop. After everything on the inside was put in its travel spot, Bunny and Cerwin took the steps apart and put them in their storage space under the trailer.
Passing an old barn on Route 441 – on the way back to the office.
This tree has really been pruned for the upcoming summer.
And the chapel is back in its parking spot for another few weeks.
