Part 3 of 3
Make-A-Wish Convoy
Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12
Our view as we left Burle Industries.
There were lots of people along the route even though it was a cool, breezy day.
The largest crowds line the bridges and roadway as we approach Brownstown.
Nice car!
Exiting Route 222 at the Brownstown ramp.
We see so many people we know when we get to this area, but I did not see my Facebook friend Fay Good Hess until I looked at the people around her in the next two pictures she took of us. Her husband is the man in black – next to the pole – and she is next to him, taking a picture of us…
…maybe this one!
Thanks Fay for permission to post them on my blog.
Actually, I’ve known Fay since she was a little girl – long before Facebook.

This picture was taken by our TFC friends Gene and Rose Gehman – in the same area.
Hey, we know these people! This is Cerwin’s sister Velda and her husband, Mel.
Approaching the town of Akron.
Main Street in Ephrata.
The last turn – from Route 322 to Route 222 at the east end of Ephrata.
It is always strange to spend an hour waving to large groups of people, then come to the end of the route and go back to normal – without anyone sitting along the road.
Chaplain Jake and Jane’s son, Jesse, took this picture of us as we went up the ramp to Route 222.
~~~
Thanks everyone for the encouraging waves, thumbs up, and shouts. Thanks also to Fay, Rose and Gene, and Jesse for the pictures you took of us.
Wonderful shots, Doris — I’m fascinated by the Amish families sitting on the grass watching as you all go by in trucks and cars!
utterly fascinating to see all the people watching ~ what a great community event ~
@fwren - It sure is.
@slmret - There are lots of Amish in the Brownstown area.
My grandson would LOVE to see all those trucks! Although, right now rockets are his “thing.”
@DanishDoll - I think that is part of the reason there are so many people there – they bring their children.
