    Saturday, September 8

We were up early (4:30 a.m.) to be ready to leave the house at 5:30 so we could be at the International Office by 6:00 to pick up International Chapel #2 and be at Cross Keys Village (Brethren Home), New Oxford, PA, by 7:15.

The sky looked like rain, and we did drive through a few light showers, but by the time we got there the weather had cleared.

York Chapter Contact Person, Jim Wardrop, helped Cerwin set up the chapel steps.

While they did that I took a few pictures.

This one had a small caterpillar-kind of critter on it.

The chapel was set up and we were ready to walk over to Ensemble Room (far right) in the Campus Inn section of Cross Keys Village where we would have breakfast.

Scrambled eggs and potatoes were at the first table of the buffet-style breakfast.

At this section of the buffet you can choose a small dish and create the ingredients for a made-to-order omelet. This was my choice.

After breakfast we went to the chapel for the program.

(Normally they stay in Ensemble Room.)

    Every chair was full...

...with more in the living quarters.

Cerwin was the morning speaker and shared the value of chapels in truck stops by highlighting several recent stories.

    It was a fabulous morning.

  • I heard a chaplain from Transport for Christ being interviewed on Moody today!

  • @fwren - Do you remember his name? Was it Jay LeRette? His chapel is at Rochelle, Illinois. He also went to Moody. The new chapel that Cerwin is building is going there.

  • I thought the word was ensemble but then again I might be wrong. Looks like a refreshing breakfast and a good crowd. So how do you guys share prayer requests? Just put one in with the offering or is there a separate box?

  • You have some great photos mixed in with this post, Doris -- the clouds are spectacular, and the flowers are pretty too!

  • @PPhilip - The word ensemble is spelled that way. I am not sure how they chose the spelling of the room that is used for the prayer breakfast. :)

I keep a list of current prayer requests for TFC staff and volunteers and email it to the chapter contact person a day or two before the breakfast, then each group adds their own prayer requests.

  • @slmret - Thanks. The flowers were "weeds" in the adjoining field. :)
