School & Helping Grandpa
September 9 to 12
I had the privilege of taking Jesse to his first full day of preschool at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church.
Going into the church with one of his teachers.
One afternoon Cerwin asked Ian and Jared to help him pick up sticks. There were a lot of small branches and sticks in our yard from Saturday evening's (September 9) wind and rain.
They were great helpers.
Hey guys, remind Grandpa that he forgot to pay you!
When they noticed all the shellbarks and acorns, they decided to gather some for Roy and Debbie's squirrels.
Ian gathered the shellbarks.
Jared gathered acorns.
While gathering acorns, he found this grasshopper.
Jared is the "bug person" in the family.
When it jumped from his arm, he just watched it crawl up his shirt.
He didn't even mind when it crawled up the back of his neck and into his hair.
One morning a school bus broke down in front of our house. It wasn't one that Jana, Ian, or Jared rode. I don't think there were any children on it yet, but I expect it took a quick change of plans to get another bus for this route.
Jana doing some homework.

We had a great time having Jere and Kristen's children - Josh, Jana, Ian, Jared, and Jesse - here for several days.

Nice to see kids getting a nice education by working with nature.
Send them on down here, Doris! We have acorns and nuts galore! The kids love to collect them! And there was a grasshopper in my kitchen tonight. Where was Jared when I needed him?
It looks like a busy but happy week!
@ANVRSADDAY - They are interested in things of nature - especially Jared.
@piecedtreasures - I think we have more than they can gather. We raked many hundreds when we prepared the pavilion for a wedding reception on Friday night, and a birthday party today.
@slmret - It was truly a happy week.
I think I need Jared to come to my house whenever I have a grasshopper problem! Sure could have used him this week!!! ~Linda
