Baptizing
Part 2
Anika
Tyrell
Tyrell and Anika with their parents Kevin and Shelia.
Aubrey
With her parents Bob and Nancy.
Kirby was a Christian who chose to join our church and be baptized by immersion.
Kirby and his wife, Joanna
Vernon – also a Christian – chose baptism by immersion.
A baptismal service is a highlight for our church – as it is for many churches – because it is a delight to see young people and those who are not so young make a choice to follow the example of Jesus.
Back at our house we honored Gloria and Ian with a celebration lunch.
Though there was other food, our meal revolved around buttered noodles – Ian’s favorite food – and Creamy Italian Chicken – Gloria’s choice.
I didn’t take many pictures, but we had a delightful afternoon. Granddaughters and those dating grandsons cleared the tables and washed the dishes. Chris, Kristen, Deb, and I decided that we could get used to that!

Why outside and with clothes on? I’ve only seen indoors in a robe so that clothes don’t get all wet.
@NightCometh - I guess because they were baptized outside in the Bible – sometimes in rivers. Regular clothing works well for baptism by immersion.
How wonderful to have so many of your family baptized in this service!
A day these children won’t soon forget. I still remember ‘my day’ when I was 1 years old and felt God calling me… He has given me grace to follow ever since.
Enjoyed your pictures!
@slmret - @georgene - Yes, it was a wonderful day for our family to remember.
Very nice to see these baptisms. I, my wife and older brother were baptized on the same day.
I was sprinkled a Methodist in my teens, but later in life the Baptists required immersion.
