Jesse as the Muffin Man
Thursday, January 31
Jesse posed with his muffins before going to preschool so we had a picture to send to his mom and dad who were in San Diego for the week.
At school – and ready for his presentation.
The day was Nursery Rhyme Show and Tell with parents, grandparents, and friends invited.
The children are learning about words that rhyme.
This little girl was Red Riding Hood.
The children had to guess who Jesse represented.
Baker’s Man was the first guess…
Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man.Bake me a cake as fast as you can;Roll it up, roll it up;Put it in a pan;And toss it in the oven as fast as you can! That was a good guess, but Mrs. Stauffer gave the children a few more hints, and they quickly guessed…The Muffin ManDo you know the muffin man,
The muffin man, the muffin man,
Do you know the muffin man,
Who lives in Drury Lane?
Yes I know the muffin man,
The muffin man, the muffin man,
Yes, I know the muffin man,
Who lives in Drury Lane. The audience always clapped when each student was finished.
Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.Up Jack got and home did trot,
As fast as he could caper;
And went to bed and bound his head
With vinegar and brown paper.
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full. One for my master,
One for my dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.Jack Be Nimble
Jack be nimble
Jack be quick
Jack jump over
The candlestick.
Another “Jack” to represent Jack and Jill.
Little Miss Muffet
Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey,
Along came a spider
Who sat down beside her
and frightened Miss Muffet away.

What fun to be reminded of the days when I memorized nursery rhymes and learned about words that rhymed.

Looks like a fun day at school.
What a seriously fun activity! I see Elizabeth and Josh there too — how nice of them to go with Jesse too! I don’t think I’ve ever heard that versionof the 2nd verse of Jack and Jill!
@slmret - Yes, Elizabeth was there, but the man you thought was Josh is the father of one of the students.
@ata_grandma - It was lots of fun to be there.
that’s a great activity for the children
@eshunt@revelife - It is a great way to teach the children about words that rhyme.
sure and it seems they had a nice time and probably picked up some practice with social skills
@eshunt@revelife - Yes, it was fun to watch each one take their turn in front of the group.
